How MultiGen Can Help
What is Important to You and Your Company?
In an environment of rapidly rising electricity and water prices together with the pressures placed on business as a result of the emerging carbon economy what is important to you and your company in order to reduce these pressures and take greater control of the future?
• reduced water and electricity costs,
• reliable electricity and water supplies,
• reduced dependance on the electricity grid,
• the ability to continue to operate during blackouts,
• reducing your carbon foot print,
MultiGen Ticks all the Right Boxes
MultiGen can help you with the above and ticks all the right boxes while saving you money. It also takes co and tri-generation one step further. These techniques generate a number of useful energy products from a single fuel source by employing combined cooling, heating and power (CCHP) technologies. Until now systems have been mainly co-generating with some tri-generating. MultiGen systems include our air water technologies offering as many as 4 essential products, quad-generated, from a single natural gas powered system and include:
• Water production,
• Electrical power generation,
• Supplementary hot and cool air for air conditioning,
• Heating of water for a swimming pool or supplementing boiler heating load and,
• Be configured to act as a back-up electrical power supply.

Generating energy products, the MultiGen way, means a smaller carbon footprint to easily increase a building’s star rating while significantly reducing a building’s energy costs. In agricultural production facilities or retirement villages the utilisation of water manufactured along with water heated may be a principle reason for a MultiGen.
A back-up power supply enabling your emergency services to operate in a grid “black out” can also be a very important factor for many building owners, facilities managers and those providing mission critical services.
‘Going Green” Adds Value
With electricity and water prices on the rise and the addition of the carbon tax, ”going green” is becoming critical to an organisation’s financial success and public profile. For example in the office space real-estate market, the newest amenity that is rapidly becoming a necessity is a building’s ability to deliver reliable power and conserve water in an energy efficient way minimising the carbon footprint. This may also increase the value of the building or rental space.
MultiGen is Highly Efficient
MultiGen systems are highly efficient. 95% of the energy contained in the natural gas fuel burned in the MultiGen turbine component is turned into usable energy. This is achieved by capturing the exhaust gas heat released by the turbine to power air cooled gas absorption chillers which operate our air water technology. The by-product of this technology is air conditioned air. If required MultiGen can give an additional output of heating site water using a gas-electric process.
Electrical power generated through the inverter system is considered ”clean” power. Some grid supplied electricity averages a power factor of only 0.75. MultiGen’s power factor of electricity supplied is 0.98. This means that electrical equipment can operate more efficiently drawing less current aiding in a further reduction of grid supply requirements.
MultiGen is designed as a ‘Plug and Play’ solution or as an engineered system providing a fully automated process that is simple to install, monitored remotely, with an optional 5 or 9 year warranty and service contract. Systems can be rented or purchased and generally have a 5 year ROI. This is largely determined by number of factors that are generally site and client specific.
